Winscombe Community Singers are a singing group based in Winscombe, North Somerset. The choir is delighted to welcome both men and women to its ranks, joining the existing members of the choir which comprise a range of ages and abilities.
We sing from a range of genres including classical, pop, folk, musical theatre, jazz and movie soundtracks. We sing in 2 and 3 part harmony and offer solos to those who would like one.
There is no entry audition, you just need to enjoy singing and having fun!
We sing from sheet music but you don’t need to be able to sight read music to join as our Musical Director teaches all parts by ear.

Our New Musical Director
Joshua Newport
Joshua originally trained in stage management and technical theatre at the South West Academy of Dramatic Arts, before deciding to move his attention to music. He now has over a decade's experience working as a freelance musical director and vocal coach throughout the United Kingdom.
Musical Direction and Music Supervising* credits include: Cinderella - Pantomime (Theatre Royal, Bath); Beauty & The Beast - Pantomime (Theatre Royal, Bath); The Addams Family (Gatehouse Theatre); Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs* - Pantomime (The Playhouse Theatre); Peter Pan* - Pantomime (The Queens Theatre); The All Seasons Live* (The Grand Pier); The All Seasons Live* (Princess Theatre); The Rat Pack Live (Edinburgh Fringe); The Other Guys (Edinburgh Fringe); A Tribute to the Blues Brothers (Edinburgh Fringe); Aladdin* - Pantomime (The Playhouse Theatre); Bugsy Malone (The Bristol Hippodrome); Beauty & The Beast - Pantomime (The Playhouse Theatre) and Fame! (The Bristol Hippodrome).
Outside of musical direction Joshua is an experienced arranger and has orchestrated music for The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), The South West School of Dance and The All Seasons, a top UK Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons tribute. He also teaches both privately and commercially throughout the year.
